Due to demands in higher throughput Axiom was called upon to re-develop sortation system software and controls for one of the world's largest supply chain solutions. The system receives parcels from six standing trailers, merges the parcels onto the main take away conveyor, where they are scanned using an omni-directional scanning array on the top and side faces. Parcels are then dynamically sorted to any one of twenty destination lanes, the system's uniqueness allows multiple sort to destinations with overspill characteristics if the sort to destination becomes full.........

Once again Deluxe Media selected Axiom to supply a packing and dispatch carton conveyor solution for thier distribution centre in Enfield. The system carries parcels from either end of the warehouse on high level transportation conveyor to a centralised packing area, semi-automatic packing machines are used to seal the cartons. Packed cartons are dynamically merged at high speed back into the system, where they are carried on Axiom's SW Sorter to their destination dispatch lane. The system automatically carries out quality control functions with the use of a dynamic check weigh. Interfaces with SAP allow shipping information to be passed between Deluxe and Axiom........

Deluxe Media Services, had a requirement to automatically label media such as DVD's and vidoes at speeds of typically 100m/min (around 200 products per minute). In order to acheive this high speed Axiom supplied 4 fully automatic servo controlled labelling machines. The line was also supplied with an automatic induct solution and a final automated stacking solution.

Labels can be applied in any position on a single location on the top face and three single locations on the bottom face of the product.

Once again Axiom found themselves supplying an automated labelling and sortation system to Deluxe Media this time at the Spanish operation in Madrid. The system consists of three automatic induction points where media is loaded at 180 products per minute in to the system.

Product lines are merged, subsequently each item is omni-diretionally scanned. The control systems establish who the product is for and any special labelling requirements, a single dynamically printed label can be applied to any position on the back face of the product, a single pre-printed label can be applied in any position on the front face of the product.

Product is transported on to the sortation system where it is sorted automatically to one of 40 sortation points...................
