Swivel Roller Sorter
|
Axiom developed the SW (Swivel Roller) in order to service the parcel and carton carrying
and sortation requirements of the industry.
Each sortation module consists of several rows of rollers, each row can be independently
turned from the centre position to either left, or right.
The rollers don't lift up and down like many of its counterparts, reducing the stresses
involved both on the product and the equipment when sorting.
As the rollers don't lift and lower there is constant drive between the product and
the roller, allowing the product to be steered into the out feed, rather than "tossed".
Steering the product greatly improves the potential sortation speed and accuracy,
typically this sorter is capable of sorting up to 200 products per minute at a
nominal product length of 500mm.
Sortation modules are joined together with a simple belt conveyor, allowing the
pitch of the sortation modules to be modified by simply varying the belt conveyor lengths.
The sorter is able to sort to the left, or right hand side as required.
Due to the nature of the roller layout the product does not have to be
pre-sorted to the left, or right hand side of the system depending on
the products final destination.
