Axiom Series 3000 		Axiom's deeply rooted product handling background regularly leads the company into projects that require some form of product labeling. Typically customers want to :- In 1999 as part of a project there was a requirement to print and apply carrier specific labels. Axiom could have purchased the print and apply labeling machines from one of many existing vendors, but the company saw there was an opportunity to develop a new breed of machine. We also found that many of our competitors did not offer the out of hours support structures that are required in the logistics industry, this would result in us supporting a machine we knew little about.

The design criteria was to engineer the machine to a minimum cost whilst maintaining all of the functions our competitors machines have.

As a result of this period of development the Axiom Series 3000 print and apply machine was developed. At the heart of the machine is an industry standard Sato print engine, the unwind and rewind assemblies and the apply head are all manufactured by Axiom.

Since then the machine has been used in many areas of industry, from carton labeling at farily low speeds to high speed media labeling, typical machine installations include :-

HS Series

Axiom Series HS3000 		Product labeling is in itself a fairly simple process, stick labels on products. However, there are many occasions where the product needs to be presented to the machine in a specific manner, this is where our competition start to struggle.

Axiom's bespoke engineering team are able to design such solutions for any number of various product types and handling requirements. Historically Axiom purchased labeling machines and designed handling solutions to fit around them, in some cases handling many of the limitations the machine heads imposed on the system design.

Our standard product range is usually developed when we have a need for a project, the HS3000 is not unique. Axiom received an order for a project to apply labels at high speeds onto DVD's and videos. The system needed an element of product handling equipment which was developed in house.

Whilst the machine development was under way, our system engineers and directors talked in length about the labeling machine vendor, there were many to choose from, but sadly not one of them met the requirements completely.

This conversation had evolved throughout the companies history, so it was no surprise when the decision was reached to develop our own applicator.

The main goals at the early design stages were :-
  • Servo driven for high speed and precision 200m/min +/- 0.5mm.
  • Low cost circa £6k sales price
  • Feature packed
  • Easy of integration into mechanical handling systems
  • Simple to support
  • Practically maintenance free
The first machine was born, the software was developed and testing commenced in house. Three more machines were developed and incorporated into the system they were developed for.

Axiom are now pleased to announce the arrival of the HS3000 self adhesive labelling machine to their product range.
